End of the month update

So just wanted to post to give an update since my posts are kind of few and far between now and I can never remember what info I've already shared with you...

Mason has 2 bottom teeth! They are so damn cute.

They are both sitting up like proper little girls and boys. They are strong. Like ox.

Jacob continues to be a good eater. He likes almost everything -- we've even tried him on the meats - turkey, chicken, all kinds of fruits and veggies.

Mason is not such a great eater. She still just loves her carbs. Especially cereal. And she seems to like the home made orange veggies - sweet potatos, carrots and butternut squash. Aunt Jennie told me this weekend that if she only eats orange things she might turn orange. Yikes. She does however also like those puffs (finger foods) that melt in your mouth. Kind of like cheerios but baby safe. She goes to town on them. Picks them up out of a bowl and puts them in her mouth. Mason needs a high chair so I can give her more finger foods. She's either a picky eater, or a control freak. Only time will tell.

Jacob is making lots of noise. As is Mason.

Mason gives KISSES. Yup. She is a smarty pants and gives them out depending on her mood.

Those are the highlights. Here are some cute pics.

Harvey was actually wondering the other day if #1 - we are just predisposed to thinking our kids are the cutest beause of some chemical in a parents brain or #2- if they actually ARE the cutest kids around. HA. I think #2. Ha ha. I said #2.

You may be sick of hearing it, but we really do have the cutest kids ever.

Mason in her crib. This is often how she greets me when she wakes from a nap.

Sir Galahad and his sippy cup. This was taken the first time I gave him the sippy cup. And he loved it. Unfortunately, the next time I gave it to him I didn't put the top on properly and all of the prune juice inside drained out all over him. Totally scarred him. He will now not touch the sippy cup. Ugh. I'm going to try and bring it back in a week or so.

Baaaaaawstin

We were up in Boston this weekend visiting Grandma and Grandpa. The real purpose of the trip of course was for me to try on bridesmaid dresses for Aunt Jennie's upcoming nuptials. And I'm proud to say we found a dress. Yay for dresses! It's very forgiving in the stomach area...which I enjoy. (When we went to try on dresses I still let everyone and anyone in the area that "I just had TWINS 7 months ago. Yup, twins." Don't know how long that excuse is good for to justify my hot body, but I'll string it out as long as possible.) The second main purpose was to celebrate grandma's birthday. Yay grandma!

The weekend was fun. Grandma and grandpa looked after the kids most of the time. Grandpa made them some food. Home made. Squash, sweet potatoes and pears. Grandma bought them a high chair which they enjoyed eating in . I know, we need to get them. SOON. But we need to get rid of that big, nice, glass dining room table we have first. If we add one more thing to the apartment without getting rid of something I'm going to have a nervous breakdown. Seriously, our place looks like disney land. Which if you're Mason and Jacob that's not so bad.

Lots of peeps came to visit and Mase and Jake got to hang out with Uncle Mat, Aunt Jennie ad Uncle Andy, and even their great grandma, Harriet and her cousin Helen. Oh yeah, and my crippled Aunt Rhonda came by too. Poor Rhonda. She needs a new back.

Here are some pics from Sunday of Mason hanging out with GG Harriet.

Park Life

I took the kids to the park a last week when it was really warm and sunny. I think it was last Wednesday. But anyway...they never really had been outside for so long. Well let me rephrase that, they never had been so awake and outside for that long of a time. It was great. We went with Mason's boyfriends, Burke and James. Burke and James are very advanced as they were crawling all over the place driving their mom crazy. (they are 2 weeks older than Mase & Jake). Mason and Jacob however, sat still on their Patriots and Red Sox blankets and played with their toys. And LOVED it. They had like, the best time ever. Seriously. I'm looking forward to the summer. Fo shizzle.

"Hi. We be chillin' in the sun."

Mason's boyfriends are fighting over her as she watches from a distance. Burke just knocked off James' cap. It's on. Oh it's on. Jacob's staying out of this one.

Mommy has to come in and make sure her boys stay on the Patriots side of the blankets, as they are clearly Yankees fans. At least their dad hopes so. C'mon Dan, let them support a winning team! (please note they are also Pats fans. at least they support 1 winning team).

Mason loves to eat her cell phone.

Jacob hamming it up for the camera.

Listen closely and you can hear Jacob making baby teredactyl noises.

Can we get any cuter?

Should I rename, "Naked Time" to "Holy shit these kids are really really REALLY cute" time? I think maybe I should.

These were taken a couple of weeks ago but I was late on the draw to post them. Eh. I'm posting them now. Enjoy. And hey, you know you can see them live, in Hoboken, almost any time you want. Just give a call. We'd love to see you. :)

My Favorite Game

Only 7 1/2 months and already Mason has a favorite game. It's called "I don't want to play this game" and can be seen in the clip below.

Monday morning hangover

This is how I started off my morning.
Yes, I know it's disgusting. That's why I posted it.

But more importantly....how are you?

(It came from little Ms. Mason I'm afraid after I tried to make her eat some apple strawberry. She sure showed me.)

Sunday Swim

That's right. It was time again for Sunday swim. Can you believe a week has already gone by since their last swim. I can't.

Class went well. Was a little bit more structured than last time. We sang songs and were told how to hold the babies in the water so they would want to kick and do swimming like things. My parents and Aunt Jennie were in this weekend and came to swimming too. Much easier. Definitely. Can I hire them out every weekend?

Here are a few of my fave shots from the day. Will post some video later. Thanks grandma, grandpa and Aunt Jennie for taking the pics.

xoxo

Mason and her boyfriends from Jefferson Street. Jacob's gonna have to look after his little sis.

Pre-swim. Jake is still warm. Mason is still weary.

A lady must make sure her swimsuit is securely fastened. No wardrobe malfunctions.

A rare family photo from the pool.

Jacob in his noodle. Nice noodle.

Two babies. Two parents. Two noodles. Keep your eyes on the babies please.

Is that a floating Mason?

Floating Jacob -- long shot. He's looking at the camera.

See, she WAS smiling.

Grandpa and Jakey. Hot trunks.

One of the cutest shots of the day.

Another one of the cutest shots of the day.

Poop Back Mountain

OK, this is a quickie but this is something I felt needed some documentation.

For the past 4 days in a row, little, sweet, innocent Jacob Galahad has been pooping whilst I feed him his breakfast, thus causing the poop to squeeze out the back of his diaper and up his back and onto his suit. Ew. He has little poop suits. Now, not sure why this is consistently happening. At all. I think the fact that he's in a sitting position might have something to do with it, but it's really quite annoying. And disgusting. And the whole situation gets worse when I put him on the changing table and he tries to grab his butt. With the poop in it. Nice.

Another funny thing worth mentioning is that this morning after the whole pooping incident and breakfast, the kiddos were playing with their toys. Jacob was sitting. Mason was rolling around on her belly. But then I noticed Mason kept trying to pull Jacob over, making him lose his balance. I think she thought it was funny. I mean, it was kind of funny. But how does she know that? She's only 7 months old and change. Crazy. She is a regular class clown I tell you. And it's like she knows she's funny. Hmmm...can't imagine who she takes after.

Splish splash I was takin' a swim

Yep, you read the title right.

Today, Harvey and I took Mason and Jacob for their first swim. We signed up for an "infant equatics" class with a mom friend of mine who also has twins. It was just at a local pool in Hoboken.

So I signed up for the class a few weeks ago. Oh, and just thought I'd share...that when I signed up the kids for the class I registered Mason first. Name...I typed "Mason Lieberman". Age...I typed "35". It wasn't until I got around to Jacob's application that I noticed they are going to think Mason is a 35 year old infant. Duuuuuuuh.

The next step was to get their suits. It said they actually only needed to wear swim diapers but no child of mine was gonna run around a public pool in a diaper. I mean, isn't that what poor kids do? Ha ha. Plus Mason is a little lady. It's way too early for her to be going topless. So I did what any good mom would do and went straight to oldnavy.com to get them suits.

I actually didn't take any pics of them yet because it was way too hard to manage both kids, all of our swimming shit and a camera! Are you nuts? Oh yeah, I was so worried about what the kids were gonna wear I wasn't thinking about me squeezing my hot bod into a suit. Post babies. Post not working-out. Post...Five Guys. So yeah. I found something.

All in all the swimming went really well. The water was kind of cold though...not very heated at all. So my sensitive little man screamed when he first got into the water. And yes, I'm talking about Jacob. Harvey is my sensitive big man. Hubba hubba. Mason loved it from the get go. Except she kept trying to eat the water. So we stayed in the big cold pool for about 15 minutes and then we all took the kids into the hot tub for the last 15. That part was a little better. Jacob definitely enjoyed the warm water way more as he went into a comatose like floating state. All he needed was a beer and he woul have been all set.

When class was over it was a challenge to get 2 wet babies and 2 wet parents changed and ready to go. I think all in all it took us 40 minutes to get all our stuff together, everyone dry and changed. The class itself was only 30. You do the math. Ha ha. It was a really fun afternoon though.

The best part of the whole thing was that my mom friend and I were the only moms in the class. Well, let me rephrase that. We were the only mom's who dared to put on swimsuits and get in the water. All the other moms, with only 1 baby were on the side of the pool taking pictures of all the dads in the pool with their little ones. Of course we had our husbands with us, holding our other baby. So unfortunately, there were not pics to be had. But maybe next time. Rest assured they looked cute. Real cute. Ridiculously cute.

Princess Party

Here are the pics from the princess party we went to last weekend. It was at a fancy country club out in Greenwich, CT. It was the twins first major event out in public. I'm proud to say that they were actually really REALLY well behaved. And of course were the cutest kids there. The last photo is of our really good friends, the Weinkranzs. Unfortunately I didn't get a pic of our other friends that were hosting the party or the birthday girl who turned 3. But all you want to see is our cute kids anyway...so here they are.

This is my fave pic of the day.

Full length body shot so you can see the whole outfit.

In the photoshoot chair. They kinda look like deer in headlights here. Ha.

My second favorite shot of the day. Is Mason gonna kill me when she gets older for making her wear this hat again?

Rare family portrait of the Liebermans.

Ok, I lied. This is my second favorite shot of the day. Harvey and his mini-me.

Meet the Weinkranzs. What a cute lil' family.

All Momed Out

I can't believe it's been over a week since my last post. What is this world coming to? Oh...I know. No time. I knew this would eventually happen. But what are you gonna do. I post when I can. Like right now. Tonight. Saturday. Hoboken St. Patricks Day. Many years ago I would be out now, drinking a green beer. Well, I probably would have been drinking them all day. But now, I'm all momed out. And I'm hanging at home, blogging...and drinking a glass on wine. I think at one point today at like 2:00 or something, there were a ton of drunk kids outside being really loud and I feared they would wake up Jacob from his nap. I actually toyed with the idea of going out and telling them to quiet down. And then I thought, "What the hell is wrong with you. you old lady. lame old lady." So hear we are...

This past week has been pretty big.

  • Jacob AND Mason are both sitting up. Really well. I still prop pillows in back of them in case they take a tumble. But they are strong. Like ox.
  • Jacob is talking up a storm. I'm not sure if I mentioned this before but he sounds like a baby teredactyl.
  • Mason jumps in her jumparoo. But actually it's more like a gallop. Instead of jumping with both feet she jumps one foot at a time. It's really REALLY cute. Maybe I can try and catch it on video at some point.
  • Jacob has started GRABBING everything. My face. His sister's ears. Oh yeah, and his own butt! I swear, every time I change him now he grabs his own ass. It's especially fun when there's poo all over it. So much fun.
  • We went to a fancy birthday party at a country club last weekend. I took the cutest pics ever. They deserve their own post.
  • It was my birthday last weekend. Thanks to all who remembered. I spent the day with my sexy babes (harv) and my other babes (mase & jake). They gave me very thoughtful gifts. Harvey got me this cool night light picture frame thing with Mason & Jacobs picture on. Sounds weird, but it's very cool. And thoughtful. You'll have to see it. Mase & Jake got me a "mother necklace". A cool little charm of a mom holding two children on it. It was so sweet. But it makes me feel like a real mom because that is the kind of necklace I used to get my mom. Oh yeah, I also stayed up past 10:30. Barely. Woo-hoo.
  • We took the kids to the park today and put them in swings. It was kind of cool. Jacob loved it! Mason wanted to eat it.

And those are the highlights. I've been working 2 1/2 - 3 days a week and the kids have been staying with the nanny. So far so good. Although I totally miss them. Really. It's kind of weird. I hate leaving. And really don't like being away from them for too long...even if I am still in Hoboken. But it's good so far. But that's another reason I haven't had a lot of time to blog.

One last note...Harv and I are taking the kids for swimming lessons tomorrow. We got them suits and everything. But I was so concerned about what they were gonna wear I kind of forgot about myself. Yikes. My swimsuit from my honey moon is definitely out of the question. And I'm not gonna wear my maternity one. That's just embarrassing. But I have an old number that doesn't look too old. I'll let you know how it goes.
