Balcony Pahty!

Below are pics from a party on Burke and Jame's balcony last week. Or maybe it was the week before. It was such a good party I can't remember.

It's not a real party unless you have PBR and two Sit N Spins.

"But where are the hot dogs?", wonders Mason.

"Hey Ma! Enough pics!"

Soooo romantic. Especially standing up here looking out into the back yard. Ahh...these are the days.

Movin' on Up

So I think I had mentioned before, Mason and Jacob have started using their spoon and forks without my help. Well, not really that good yet. But they're trying anyway. They refuse to let me feed them anything really.

I've also taught them to drink from juice boxes. So they look like official kids now. It's really cute. Jacob is pretty awesome at it. Mason, isn't bad either.

Below are pics of Mason eating pudding. And the whole juice box extravaganza. Fun for the whole family!

The power of "Plaheeeeeeeease"

I should get this one on video, but little Jacob has really learned the power of the word "Please". I've been trying to teach them good manners and to say please and thank you. So before I give them something they desire, like their snack cup or Harvey's cell phone I'll say, "Say Please".

Jacob has gotten really good at it and says it with earnest. Mason, says it, but short and curt. And you can't really make it out.

But Jacob has also started saying it without any prompting. Like if he really wants something. Like puffs. Or to watch Yo Gabba Gabba. It's so frickin cute I can't stand it. And I mean, really, how can I say no to that.

Little Miss Daredevil

She flies through the air without a care in the world. That's our little Mason. Seriously, the girl is fucking nuts. I can't remember ever being like that. And Harvey claims he was a good little English boy. Plus he's Jewish. So how crazy could he have been? So we're not sure where she gets it from but the little lady is certifiable. And poor Jacob just copies her really. I think taking them to this "Little Gym" class (which is essentially a real gymnastics class) has given her some fuel for her fire.

Now she enjoys jumping off the furniture. Well, our coffee table/ ottoman to be exact. But she doesn't really jump. She kind of just walks off. And Jacob does too. They seem to have so much fun doing it, it was hard for me to tell them no. (not like they would listen to me anyway). But I made it clear that they can jump off, but only when mama is here. Yeah, that's some good parenting for you.

Harvey said it was right up there with me pushing them on their cars into walls and each other.

I guess I'm setting myself up for disaster, but it's kind of already too late. I think.

Come out of the Closet!

Apparently Mason and Jacob are not afraid of the dark. Or being in the closet. In fact, they like it. Last week we were going out and I was trying to get the stroller out of the closet and they ran in. Crazy babies. I thought I would scare them out by shutting the door. But they LOVED it. In fact, they kept wanting me to do it again. Here is a picture of how much they loved it. It's kinda weird cause Jacob cries when Mason sneezes and snot comes out of her nose, but the dark, no problem. Go figure.

THAT

For some reason Jacob thinks that Mason's name is "That". Really. I just figured it out last week. I've noticed lately that he keeps going up to her and pointing and saying "That". I guess it's my fault really. When they look at pictures or if I'm simply pointing to Mason I'll say, "Jacob, who's that?" So now, the poor guy thinks her name is "that". Weird. I guess it's better than "Poop".

12 Chicken Nuggets and a Whole Avacado

That's what Mason and Jacob ate for dinner last night. And I'm not even exaggerating. Granted, they didn't eat much during the day, as they seemed to be on food strikes. But oh well. Jacob just doesn't eat breakfast anymore. And lunch was not happening at all for them yesterday. No reason. Maybe cause of daylight savings.

But when dinner came, the little guys were ravenous. Like a pack of hungry wolves they first devoured the avocado. Then came the nuggets. I made 6 to begin with and then they just kept finishing them and feverishly asking for more! I just couldn't keep up. Anyway, was definitely a Lieberman dinner record.

So I had to record it. Naturally.

15 Things I wish I could get on video

-Mason running around naked like a wild animal.
She LOVES being naked. Really and truly. She also did a funny naked jumping dance last night before her bath. I have it in my memory, but I want all you guys to have it in yours.

-Jacob doing somersaults in his crib when he wakes up from his nap.

-Mason vs Jacob saying the word "baby".
Jacob says it really good, like you or I would. Mason says it weird. Sounds like "BuhBEY!" (emphasis on 2nd syllable) Not sure if it is a southern accent or english. Maybe the girl will talk like her daddy.

-Jacob getting his "crazies" out.

-Mason & Jacob eating their yogurt and apple sauce by themselves with their spoon without any help.

-Mason & Jacob throwing away their diapers in the trash can after they've been changed.

-Mason & Jacob helping me clean up after I've changed their diapers -- putting the wipes and A & D back on the table.

-Mason brushing her own hair.

-Mason trying to put her own clothes on.

-Jacob turning on the DVD player and actually playing the DVD by himself.

-Jacob eating his yogurt with the wrong end of the spoon.

-Mason & Jacob riding around the apartment on their car toys.
They can finally do it themselves and it's friggin HILARIOUS!

-Jacob and Mason giving hugs to each other. It's really the cutest thing ever.

-Jacob and Mason bringing me all their stuffed animals to put in their high chairs in the morning when I ask them who wants breakfast.

-Mason saying "poo poo".
(Which inspired this post. Ha.)

Maybe I'll capture some of these things this week. I'll try. But once they know they are being filmed they totally stop. They just know. Smart little buggers, aren't they.

Poo Poo

Aunt Jennie was in this weekend and taught Mason how to say "Poo poo". Now if I could only get it on video. That would be awesome.

Jacob's new girlfriend

Her name is not Julie or Jill or Jennie. Nope. Her name is Glass. Well, actually, glass. As in "glass window" or "glass door". And actually, she isn't a she at all. She's just glass. But lately Jacob has an obsession with kissing glass. He loves it. He makes out with it and I can't stop him. Nor do I want to really cause it makes him happy. I know it's kinda gross that he's licking windows, but what are you gonna do. I try and wipe them down.

Most notably, Jacob is in love with the glass at The Little Gym in Jersey City. He's actually only been there a handful of times, but he LOVES the glass. You think he would be more into running around the huge gym or playing and jumping off all the equipment. Nah. Not when there's glass there.

This morning he made out with the door at Romparoo. Poor guy.

At least I know he's got lots of love to give.

Second Class Parent

Who saw this coming? Up until recently Mason always asked Dada to read her a book before bedtime, usually "The Escape of Marvin the Ape". Not only would she ask Dada to read but she'd taunt Mama with the book first. She'd take the book to Mama, sit on her lap and then get up defiantly declaring "Dada" and waltz over to me for the reading. In the last few weeks it all changed... Now it's Mama who's the favorite. Mason takes her book over to Mama, sits on her lap and when Ann says "Do you want Dada to read to you?" she looks at me and says "Mama!" What did I do to deserve this? Is it a phase she's going through? Have the teen years hit early or is she no longer a daddy's girl? At least Jacob still loves me. Even if he does wear pink sunglasses.

Take a Walk on the Wild Side

Yesterday we took the kids for a walk. Like a real walk. Where they actually walked. Granted we just went down the street to CVS but they still walked. My girlfriend has been doing it with her twins lately and I thought it was such a good idea. Jacob has actually gone on one walk previously, with my nanny, Sarah, last Thursday when I took Mason to gym class. He was really good. Held Harvey's hand the whole time. Mason, well, she's always been a little more independent.

So we bought a few things inside CVS and let them walk around the store. Which was pretty cool. Except when they found the toy aisle and Mason wanted a ball. Later we went out to eat at Stacks again. Was pretty successful. We were gonna try Johnny Rockets but it was too crowded. They still haven't mastered Stacks, but maybe next time we'll try a new venue. Mason drank her milkshake again in the kiddie cup through the straw and she thought it was like, the best thing ever! I've never heard a bigger, "MMMMMMMMM".

After a tasty meal of chicken fingers, fries and a milkshake.

"I'm eating!!!!"

Happy 18 months to us Revisited

Before I forget I wanted to document the kids vital stats from their 18 month doctor appointment on 2/4/10. If I don't record it in the blog I'll have nothing to remember.

Ms. Mason
Height: 22.13"
Weight: 29.5 lbs
Head: 46 cm

Sir Galahad
Height: 23.8"
Weight: 30.25 lbs
Head: 47 cm

They are both in the 25% across the board. They are little people. But so are Harv and I. And little people rule. Just ask Grandma Sherry.

The Week that Was

That would be last week. Already happened. Done. Kaput. All over. And the twins are yet ANOTHER week older. I finished my 2-week job so I'm pretty happy. This week I'm concentrating on all the stuff I didn't do the past two weeks cause I was working...you know - laundry, bills ect. Hell, I just cleaned out a huge bowl of mail that had things in there from December. No joke.

But enough about me...

Week was pretty exciting - as far as weeks go. We only listened to The Laurie Burkner Band like maybe once a day. Jacob is starting to be nicer to his sister. Not taking everything away from her. Which is always a nice treat. Their hair is crazier than ever. I def pondered the thought of getting haircuts and then decided not too. I took Mason to her "Little Gym" class (Jacob goes this week) and she continues to be a daredevil -- jumping off of absolutely anything and everything. Seriously, the girl has no fear.

Both kids are into doing "forward rolls". They can't quite do them by themselves yet, but they are getting close. Jacob much closer than Mase.

Saturday was Hoboken St. Patricks Day so I didn't venture out of the apartment. There was even a party going on in our hall so we didn't let the kids out. "Remember when we used to have parties..." Harvey said at one point in the weekend. Um...no. Ha ha. Of course I do. But those days seem like forever ago. I mean, we still have people over, but a kegger -- not since the Pats won the Superbowl in . Long time. Oh yeah, we also had a visit from my newlywed cousins, Lindsey & Eric. They were in Hoboken for a pahty. They are still young. And hip. And they live in Williamsburg for Christ sake.

We had some friends around yesterday morning which was fun. Their little 13 month old friend, Ryan (who is bigger than Jacob) and their parents, Nic & Jeff. And Mr. Maj and Ms. Alicia. We even busted out breakfast quesadillas and Mimosas. Oh yeah, we're super fancy. Kids had a blast. And I'm not talking about Harvey, Jeff & Maj.

Another funny thing the kids have been doing lately has to do with when I go to take their pictures. Mason kinda loves it. In fact, when I get out the camera she often goes to get her sunglasses. I guess from here on out she only wants to be photographed with shades on. Jacob will sometimes follow and go get his shades too but he's not to happy about getting shot. In fact he runs away from the camera sometimes and shouts at it.

We are happy and we know it.

She's saying "Cheese" believe it or not.

And saying cheese again...but looking much cooler with shades.

I even look cool when I walk. My brother can't even get dressed. Lazy.

No!!!! Don't take my picture Mama. I'll shake my fists at you if I want.

This morning before we went to Romparoo the kids got naked and put their rain boots on that their Great Grandma Harriet gave to them. No shit. It was hilarious. But I wasn't fast enough to take a pic. Oh well. I'm sure they'll do it again some time soon.

Here are some pics from Saturday -- Hoboken St. Pattys. I know. They are cute. But not drunk. I wouldn't let them out and drink the green beer. Maybe next year.

Just chillin' reading Yo Gabba Gabba.

My little rock stars.

Eat your hear out boys. Call me in 20 years.

"Wow. Mason really is the coolest ever."

It must be Moose A. Moose or Laurie that has their attention. I know it's not me.

My fave shot of the day.

Mason's Beau

His name is Burke. And he's practically in College already so...ch ch check him out.
Oh yeah, he's a twin too. And he's actually only 2 weeks older...to the day.

This is Jacob. Not Burke. But he's clearing the area where Mason and Burke will be. Making sure it's clear of Cheerios, Puffs or Porn.

Burke, just reading a book to his girlfriend.

Movie night.

Cuddle McCuddles over here. How cute is this??

Jacob's (boy)friend, James. Burke's bro. Hey, they seem perfectly content.

March 1 Update

So again, I totally apologize (as I always do) for being such a blog slacker. But hey, sometimes you just can't get to the shit you love the most. Like my blog. About my babies.

So much has gone on this past month I don't really know where to start -

Mason and Jacob continue to walk and talk up a storm. New words in their vocabulary is:

baby (although Mason says "Buh-bey" like here Nana Sandra)
they know please and thank you -- i'm not sure what they say for it -- but they are certainly trying.
Shhhh - yes like "shhh" dada is sleeping.

And many others. I just can't remember right now.

They got a new tunnel they can crawl through that's in our living room. Pretty awesome. They got two huge stuffed puppies for Valentines Day from their grandparents.

And I dunno. They are just all around awesome kids. Sure they are not always happy - they cry and wine. But I think a lot of kids do that. I mean, they are good eaters. Oh, which reminds me - we've been trying to take them out to eat at least once a week so they learn to eat in restaurants - kind of important, no? So we took them to "Stacks" the Hoboken restaurant we take them to often...and Mason ate...wait for it...wait for it...TUNA FISH. Yup. She loved it. Now anyone who knows me, knows I can't stand the stuff. Looking at it. Smelling it. Nothing. And not in a gazillion years did I think that any daughter of mine would eat that stuff. But she loved it. Was eating it by the spoonfull. Ugh.

So here are some more pics from the past month. It's OK to love them. You just can't help it.

Mason decided to go through the laundry basket and take my CLEAN underwear and put it on. Around her neck. As some sort of necklace. Hey, at least it was clean laundry.

When I say it's time for breakfast in the morning, this is who is hungry. Not Mason and Jacob. But all Mason and Jacob's stuffed animals. At least that's what they tell me when they bring them to me to put in their high chairs.

Mase wearing a ski hat. She's so gangsta.

Jacob wearing his doggie PJs. He's so NOT gangsta.

Happy Birthday To Us 2010!

OK OK. Jeeeez...
Did you really think I wasn't writing on the blog anymore? Are you insane?

I know I haven't updated for a month, but it's busy in the advertising world. And it's always busy in the mom world. And apparently the chemistry world is slammed too. Add in winter colds and stomach flus, Nate Robinson (who my dad calls a midget) coming to the Celtics, Vince Wilfork negotiations, spring training and the boring winter Olympics and that makes for not a whole lot of time to write on the blog. Shit, I didn't even know that USA was playing Canada yesterday in hockey. THAT'S HOW OUT OF IT I AM.

But fear not...the blog is not forgotten.

Mason and Jacob are fantastic and hopefully I'll get a chance to update you later. You know, now that I'm 36 and all. And they are 19 months old!! Woo-hoo.

Stay tuned. Just know that all is well in Lieberland and that I plan on continuing the blog. Just been slammed. Ya know what I'm saaaaaaayin.

Here's one little preview of cuteness to come...
