Turkey Day 2010

So...we were up in Boston at Grandma and Grandpa's house for a WHOLE week. I thought it might drag, maybe we'd go nuts. But it actually was a ton of fun and flew by. Now we're back in Hoboken. And I'm actually working this week. On a pitch. So it's extremely time consuming. And in fact, I shouldn't even be posting right now. I should be working. But clearly, I'm easily distracted. Sorry Winnie. (my art director partner) But when you have kids as cute as mine, you feel the need to post pictures and share them with the world. Or at least their blog fans...I'll write more about our week later, but I just HAD to post some pics from last week. I have a gazillion, as always. But I widdled it down to these.

Oh yeah, and by the way, Mr. Jacob ate ALL of his turkey. Little Miss Mason refused. All she wanted was "Arthur Mac Cheese". Oy.

All dressed up for the Turkey Day festivities.

Gorgeous.

Daddy's girl.

Leaves...the best toy ever.

We don't have this many leaves in Hoboken.

That's right. Know it.

Always obsessed with doors.

Little jaunt at the park in Milford.

Crazy goes down head first of course.

SuboGaga

This morning, whilst changing Jacob's diaper, he looked over at the TV on which Susan Boyle (aka Subo) was singing Lou Reed's "Perfect Day" along with a choir ensemble.  Jacob watched and listened for a while before remarking that it was Lady Gaga on TV.  Ann and I both tried to explain his mistake to him but he was adamant that it was definitely Lady Gaga.  I don't know whether to be more worried about his hearing or his eyesight!

It's expected that this blog will outlast both Subo and Lady Gaga so, for future reference, here's a picture of each:

Susan Boyle

Lady Gaga

Sorry

Jacob's latest favourite word is sorry.  Whenever he does something he knows he's not supposed to do he says "Sorry".  That's sweet in itself but now it's been extended to inanimate objects.  Last week he walked up to his toy monkey sitting on the futon, looked him in the eyes and said "Sorry".  I've no idea what had happened between them - maybe a lovers quarrel or a disagreement between business partners - but all is better now.

Three Shirts

This morning Jacob wanted to wear three shirts. A long sleeve green thermal shirt with a dinosaur, a short sleeve Elmo t and a long sleeve Cookie Monster t. He was very insistent. And passionate about wearing all three shirts! So I let him. Who was I to say he couldn't wear all three.

I took a picture but Jacob is so skinny you can't even really tell he has 3 shirts on.

Anyway, I found it amusing. Thought you might too.

What???

Sad Face

So Jacob is really into making "sad face". Check it out. He totally knows how to work it.

Mason attempts to make sad face too. Funny.

Just cute

That's all I wanted to say really.

Go Pats!! They look wicked grown up, right?

Yes, Jacob is a stud! I totally agree.

I hear you Mommy Daddy

So baby A is now officially talking up a storm. Yes, our little Jacob has officially started talking a bit more. And it just happened like that. It's great. And his little voice is so cute.

So Saturday afternoon, Mase and Jake had been napping for a couple hours and Harvey and I were out in the living room watching TV and talking and all of a sudden we hear, "I HEAR YOU MOMMY DADDY...I HEAR YOU MOMMY DADDY!" It was Jacob. I almost lost it. What a cutie. But then again, everyone already knew that, right?

Best Friends

One of the cutest things Mason has been doing lately is putting two things next to each other and calling them best friends. I'm actually not sure where she picked it up from, maybe Yo Gabba Gabba but it's the cutest thing ever. Two of her "little people" toy figures, two spoons, two cars, two hair bows, any object next to another object is best friends. You just have to see it for yourself.

However, she also says that "Burkejames" are her best friends. Which is equally as cute. Sometimes "Jayjay" is a best friend as well. Awwwwww.

Big Potty

So ever since Mason and Jacob started reading those potty books they've been interested in using the potty themselves. Well, I should really say Mason has been interested. Jacob's is interested because Mason is interested. But he's not really totally interested per se. But anyway...

Point is, I bought them a potty and wanted to document it. Well this Sesame Street insert that goes in the big toilet. And while neither have them have actually gone pee pee or poo poo in the potty (sorry i'm talking to you like you're a 2-year-old but i've been doing that a lot. just can't break out of it sometimes. whatever. this is a baby blog.) they both have sat on it many times. And they think it's fun.

Mason is really good at telling me after she's gone poop. Then she says she wants to go poo poo in the potty. I'm working on getting her to let me know BEFORE she actually goes. But all is good for now.

We are all getting acquainted with the big girl and big boy potty. Breaking em in a little at a time. Stay tuned for "The Adventures of Poo Poo and Pee Pee."

You're MY monkey now!!!

Funny right? Just a phrase that our little Jacob invented last week.

He was wearing his monkey PJ's. (Paul Frank monkey on the front). Mason was wearing hers as well. And I was actually wearing a monkey (Paul Frank) t-shirt as well. So we were all jumping around, talking about monkeys...as you do...and at one point Jacob tackled me and screamed out, "You're MY monkey now.". It was so funny. And it just kinda stuck Harv and I find ourselves daily saying that to the kids.

Jacob is really creative. He makes up songs and silly shit all the time. Totally cracks me up. Class clown? Maybe. Can't really tell. He's shy. But silly. And definitely likes to make people laugh. And comes up with the wackiest stuff. What a nut.

My Happy Halloweenies

Lots of fun was had by all. As always. We drove up to Grandma & Grandpas Friday night. Stopped by Uncle Andy and Aunt Jennie's new pad in Danvers Sat morning then made our way to Exeter NH to hang with our Bffs Burke and James.

Trick or Treating in Exeter was on Saturday this year. So we decided to join our friends and do it twice. 2 year old Twins who don't really like candy + 2 nights Trick or Treating = tons of candy for mommy and daddy.

This year they dressed as Elmo. I was going to get them different costumes but was afraid on the day they each would want to be the other thing and cry and it would be an issue. I tried to avoid all issues. I mean, I didn't even know if they would put the costume on. But they did. And I think they loved it.

The next night Burke and James came to Milford and we went Trick or Treating again. The second night Jacob lost a shoe and Burke split his front lip open. So a little more eventful I guess. I let him continue the night, Trick or Treating in his socks. Which I guess is fine. Maybe a little irrisponsible considering it felt like it was 20 degrees out. But he didn't complain and I just couldn't carry him the whole time. Duuuuh.

Kids had a blast. Was slightly stressful for Harv and I as they are still a bit young for it. But we got lots of candy so I can't really complain.

Friday (pre-pre-Halloween)

Yes, those are Mason's shades and strawberry on his chin.

Aunt Jennie's new house in the back. Hot, right?

Best pic of the weekend. (in my professional opinion.)

I don't need my hat on yet Mommy...duh...we are inside!

One of my little Elmos.

Soho chic? Or Cover of J-Crew?

Elmo #2 and Daddy.

Elmos and Pumpkins and Gillian's...oh my!

"Help. I've fallen and I've dropped Elmo's head.

This woman is scared. Clearly. Must be the Insane Pumpkin Posse.

Painting pumpkins. Jacob preferred to paint his with water only. Surrealist? Maybe.

Yes, I'm turning into my mother. (but in all honesty, someone else set this up. i just photographed it. so is it as bad?)

Proud Grandma sherry on Halloween.

Special shout out to all the special Halloween loot given out to the kiddos. You know who you are. Wicked nice.
