Summer of 2013 was super duper fun. It was kind of a while ago, so my memory is hazy...there were def some highlights such as the twins getting their tonsils out and our trip to England to celebrate my father-in-law's 70th birthday...but we mostly were home. The twins went for 3 weeks to a day camp from the preschool they attended. We also went to the Arlington Reservoir lots. We took swim lessons at the YMCA. Played a lot in our yard out back and in the driveway. Chalk, water guns, the water table and the slip n slide were favorites. We sat on the front porch and ate popsicles. We grilled and ate on the deck most nights. Masey and Jakey turned 5. We went to Cape Cop for July 4th and other random times throughout the summer. It was an overall blast. And warm. Oh so warm. Can't wait for the warmth again. (it's feb now. and frigid. oh yes.)

Last Day of Preschool
So yes, this entry should have been dated, June 12, 2013. So it's 8 months or so late...WHATEVER. Jake and Mase graduated The Billy Dalwin Preschool last summer. I was way sad because my little babies were growing up. And going to kindergarten. Which, at the time, I thought was going to be really scary. Because they were going to be in separate classes. But it was time to go. Time to move on. Thank you Temple Emunah for giving us a strong Jewish identity, our Friday Shabbat dinners, and the kids being able to sing Hamotze. And for the terrible Shabbat CD you gave to us and made me drive around in the car listening to for months on end. Thank goodness the kids outgrew it. But fear not...there is always Skye to bring that harmonious CD of "Shabbat is Here", "Put the Chicken in the Pot" and "Thank you God".
Some memories from Preschool Graduation...my "big" almost 5-year-olds.

ZebraCamel
Apparently this is a Zebracamel. I can only imagine that it's half zebra and half camel. This is what happens when there's too much snow for the kids to go outside and play.
Hiding
So a couple of weeks ago I'm upstairs and I hear Mason calling "Daddy, come find me". The sound is coming from the twins' room but when I go in I can't find her. As I'm going out I hear her again "Daddy, I'm hiding". Turning around I bend down and find Mason hiding in the drawer under her bed.
I tell her "that's a great hiding place!" and she replies with "Daddy, can you help me out. I'm stuck!"

Marriage
So Jacob and Mason still think they are getting married. I know I've mentioned this before. I always ask Jacob if he'll marry me. Or I ask Mason if she's going to live with me forever. Their response is always, "Well I'm marrying Mason...Daddy already married you." Or, "I'm marrying Jacob. Because he loves me."
Well this all changed Valentines day morning, ironically enough.
Jacob came running into our bedroom. Mason was already in bed with us. (this was around 7AM ... yes the twins like to come into bed with us and snuggle.) Jacob jumps into bed next to me.
Jacob: I'm not marrying Mason ANYMORE!
Me: Really Jacob?
Jacob: Really. She's annoying. She always wakes me up. I'm marrying SKYE!
Me: Ha ha ha. You've finally come to your senses Jacob. I always wondered why you would want to marry her.
Jacob: Well, I'm not marrying Mason.
Mason: Well who AM I going to marry?
Jacob: I don't know. Maybe Hunter. Or Harold.
Mason: I'm gonna marry Skye too.
Jacob: You can't marry Skye. She's a girl. And you have to marry a boy. And I'M MARRYING SKYE!
Mason: Well what if Skye wasn't around. And I was the only one near you. Would you marry me then?
Jacob: Nope.
Harvey: So basically Jacob, what you are saying, is that EVEN if Mason was the last person on earth you would not marry her.
Jacob: I'm marrying Skye.
Mason: Well Jacob, you are marrying me TOO! You can have TWO wives.
Jacob: Oh dear.
And this is basically how the conversation went. I swear, I can't make this shit up.

Chicken Soup
Jake used to be so good at trying new things but Mason's fear of the unknown has started to rub off on him. When the twins had the flu I made them some tasty chicken soup.
Harv "Jake, here's some chicken soup for you"
Jake "I just need to calm down first"
Harv "Why do you need to calm down?"
Jake "'cos I'm a little scared"
Harv "why are you scared of chicken soup?"
Mason "is it ghost chicken soup?"
Needless to say, Jake didn't like the chicken soup (I swear he couldn't get enough when he was younger!) but Skye loves it!

Plague House
Three-fifths of the Lieberman family have just got over the flu. Mason was our patient-zero, closely followed by Jacob and Ann. Strangely, the youngest and oldest, Skye and myself, seemed to be immune this time round. I put that down to Skye getting the flu shot (the twins got the mist this season) and me being very lucky!
