Here's a quick recap on what's been going on with all things Lieberman.
Mase & Jake have officially changed pampers to SIZE 3! Cruisers. That's right. Know it.
Mason is crawling all over the place. She can do the proper crawl but prefers the army one for now. I'm gonna try and catch it on video soon but the girl doesn't really like to preform.
Jacob goes onto his belly often and pushes himself backwards. He hasn't really figured out the going forward thing yet.
Harvey is away. Yes, like away away. Like in Iceland. For a bachelor party. He left Wednesday night, comes back on Sunday. I've been with the little munchkins on my own the past couple nights but they've been on their best behavior. And Aunt Jennie is coming this afternoon to help out for the weekend. Three cheers for Aunt Jennie!
Mason has almost given up purees. Not that she was ever really a big fan...but I've taken to giving her mostly adult food. Sweet potatos, squash, avocado, blueberries. She absolutely loves it. Jacob too. He just takes longer to chew. Mason swallows things whole. I'm convinced.
With adult, not pureed food comes adult poops. Awesome.
They eat Cheerios now. How fun is that? I completely forgot how good they are.
And that's that.
Below is a little video. I hope you will find it humorous. Mason sure did.
Enjoy the weekend folks.

oooh ooh eee eee ah ah ah!
The kids are nearly 10 months old. And they are way too big for those baby pajamas. So Mason is out of her sleep sack. And Jacob is out of his sleep suits and here are the new threads. Not to shabby.

"Thank you very much. You're pretty cute too."

"Roar. Fear me. I'm wearing a bow tie."

"Oh Jacob. That was hiLARious."

"CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE."

Holy cuteness!
If there were another word for cute I would totally use it. I think I might have brought this issue up before. I dunno. Anyway, when I look cute up on thesaurus.com the choices I get are: adorable, beautiful, charming, dainty, delightful, pleasant and pretty. Hmm...not really what I was looking for. So I'll have to use the word cute again. Or cuteness. Cutetastic?

I am Sir Galahad. And I am DONE!
(eating. he's clearly in his high chair.)

This is the circle headed bumble beast of bog 39.

Live, from Fenway Pahk...Little Monstahs!!!!! Thank you Aunt Jennie.

Just happy to be Mase & Jake.

The World Through Jacob's Eyes
Body Movin'
Here's the proof the munchkins are on the move. While not the most exciting videos in all the land, they are still pretty darn cute. Just a typical day at the Lieberman house. What fun.
OK. So I've spent the last 12 hours or so trying to upload some cute videos. Not sure what is happening. But I don't like it one little bit. Ha ha. Will try again later. Enjoy the still for now.
Bows! Bows! Bows!
How exciting. Mason has enough hair to put bows in. Well, it might not sound that exciting to you, but to me it was pretty fricken exciting. Seriously. What mom doesn't wanna have a little girl to brush her hair and put bows in? No mom that I know. Actually, my good friend who lives around the corner with the two boys (Mason's boyfriends) actually bought Mason her bows. Because she's so cute. And delicate.
As if she could get any cuter. Your call.

Jacob on the move
It's only fair that Jacob gets his due. I think I mentioned it before, but Sir Galahad is definitely on the move. Here is a picture to prove it. I found him last week scooting backwards underneath the same exact chair that I lost Mason under a couple weeks ago. Little stinker.

And here is a picture of Jacob actually standing up. Sure he is kind of wedged between the couch and the coffee table but "he's still standing. yeah yeah yeah."

Burritos in Disguise

Today, we attented the 8th Annual Hoboken Baby Parade. No, I'm not joking. There really is a "baby parade" in Hoboken (as you can see by the flyer I attached). Apparently it's been going on for 7 years already. Yeah, I've lived in Hoboken for a while now and I've never heard of such a silly thing. Until now. Cause now, I actually look forward to these kind of things. Sad, I know. But it was kind of really fun. In that now-you-have-kids-and-your-life-has-completely-and-totally-changed kind of way.
The idea was to dress up your baby, your carraige or both and march in a little parade. Then their are judges and trophies and all sorts of parade like things.
We actually didn't start thinking about costumes until a few days ago. And we had all of these fantastic ideas. But at the end of the day, they were just too hard to execute. No time. But we managed to come up with a pretty awesome idea in the end. Mason and Jacob were "Burritos in Disguise". And the best part is, WE ACTUALLY GOT AN HONORABLE MENTION FOR BEST CARRIAGE IDEA. Good thing we didn't win though cause a lot of people really went all out for this thing. And we were burritos in disguise. Ha. It's pretty exciting though I have to say -- our kids FIRST contest win. Awesome.
This sign was a last minute addtion.

See the masks on the carseats! Clever, I know.

Baby Burrito.

Mason is not amused.

Action shot.

Celebrating our honorable mention win!

Jacob celebrates with Papa. Froggy in the mouth style.
British Invasion
So my lovely in-laws have come all the way from England and have been staying with us for about a week. It's actually gone by really really fast. We've done tons of fun stuff - like eating cupcakes and ice cream, taking the babies to the park and drinking martinis and margaritas. They even baby sat the kiddie winks for us last night and Harv and I got to go out to our friends apartment (that also have twins) that live around the corner. It was definitely fun to get out of the house and have some adult conversation whilst drinking Sangria. Granted, we talked about poops and the best places to get Gerber Yogurt Melts but all in all it was a fantastic night out.
Mason has been showing off for her English grandparents this week by moving like crazy all over the place. She's got moving backwards down pat. And she's actually started to move forward. Not like a proper crawl but that commando army crawl thing. Even Jacob surprised us all this morning by pushing himself backwards. Crazy little freak.
So tomorrow is their last day here and then they're off to Vegas for a week. Yes, I said Vegas. Pretty awesome, huh.
Here are some pics from the week. Of course they're cute. Duh.

Proud Papa.

Chillin' with the Liebermans.

Can you even stand it?

I AM the cutest baby in all the land.

Mason is pondering life's many mysteries.

Jacob would like to ponder too please.

Remember when grass was really really interesting?

Jacob and his friend James. They love each other. Clearly.

Mason giving some 'tude.

Jacob thinks he's laundry but unfortunately does not camouflage so well.

Lunch time.

Mason showing off one of her many new English outfits.

Jazz hands.

No Sleep Till Brooklyn
Jacob won't nap today. He's normally pretty good, napping for an hour or so in the morning and 2-3 hours in the afternoon. That's pretty good for a 9-month old, especially when there's so much to do. Today was different and I have a theory as to why...
Although Jacob is not a good napper today, my dad (who is visiting with my mum - more in another blog entry) is a very good napper. Here's a picture of my dad napping at 3pm today:
and here's a picture of Jacob at the same time:
I believe that every house/apartment/condo has a number of "nap hours" that can be distributed amongst the inhabitants. Once the number of nap hours has been exceeded for a particular day there will be no more napping. The larger the house, the more the nap hours it can hold. Our place is quite small and therefore it couldn't support my dad, Mason and Jacob all napping at the same time. In this case Jacob lost out and screamed until we put him in the swing to relax.
Here's the equation for nap hours:

My First Mommy's Day

The lone pic we took on Mother's Day. Jacob loves his Mommy. Mason, I'm not so sure what she's thinking here. Probably about Puffs.
Sunday was Mother's Day. And I'm a mother now so it was pretty weird. Not that it was mother's day. But that I'm a mom. I know it's been 9 months but I still have to remind myself daily that I have offspring.
Anyway, the day was AWESOME. I got to sleep in which was perfect. Until 8:00. Can you even stand it? I don't know when in my life I've ever been SO damn excited about sleeping in until 8:00 in the morning. Huh. It actually just occurred to me that that's the time I used to wake up every day to go to work. Sad. Ha ha.
But I slept in. Then when I woke up I had a great big mother's day breakfast in bed gift basket from the kids. It was awesome - full of all of my favorite things. They even added a little somethin' somethin' extra special to the gift basket just for mommy. I swear, they are so advanced. They wrote their card out and everything. Then they made me pancakes and we all ate them. Their first pancakes. My first mother's day pancakes. Amazing. Seriously. Oh yeah, they also gave me a bouquet of lillies. Nice, right.
Later that day we went for a walk and ended up at our old favorite bar, McSwiggens. We put the kids on the pool table so they could crawl around and we could show them off. Drank a couple beers and headed home.
All in all it was a fun day. Mostly because I got to spend it with my family. How gay does that sound. All Halmarky and stupid, I know. But it's true.
Oh yeah, and a big hug and kiss to my dear hubby Harvey for pointing the kids in the right direction. What a guy. Love you babes.
XOXO

She's SO LA
The good thing about having two babies is that you totally don't mind when one of your best friend's from LA is flying into JFK at 5:30 in the morning. "Oh Annie, I couldn't ask you to pick me up. That's SOOO early. I'll just take public transportation. I'll figure it out." HA HA. Crazy girl.
This past Saturday one my best friends, Kristin, was in from LA for her brother's graduation from UCONN. Seems like as good reason to stop off and see the cutest twins in the world, right? So I picked her up from JFK at 5:30. There was no traffic. It was 5:30. On a Saturday. We arrived back to my place after picking up some coffees around 7:00. I thought for sure Harvey would be feeding the little rugrats. But when we walked in all was silent. And then I heard Mason. And then I heard Jacob. And I popped my head into my bedroom and there was my Harvey - all snuggly and sleeping. Imagine that...the kids actually slept in. Or Harvey slept in.
The day was great. Went for a walk. Went to the park. Kristin got to see the kids swing. Yes, our activities were a little different from our college days but I think they were just as fun. Well, kind of. I mean, in a different way. Well, you know what I mean.
Anyway, it was great to see her. And I'm so happy she got to meet Mase & Jake. And they got to meet their first person from the west coast. Aww yeah.

Toy hoarder
The twins love their bath seats and all their bath toys. Mason loves the toys so much that she wants them all. Poor Jacob. And to make sure he doesn't get to them she hides them in her bath seat. In this picture she's managed to hoard 7 of them without Jacob suspecting anything. Sometimes she sticks one up her bum and then gives it back to Jacob. It's her revenge for the times he poops in the bath. Poor Jacob.

Work Shmerk
I worked this week. Every day. In the city. I left at 9:00 and was generally back by 7ish. So it wasn't crazy hours or anything, but I missed my babes. I won't harp on this because I think I've already babbled about it before, but work is so frickin' overrated. I swear. This whole having kids things really puts things in perspective. Like the fact that I write ads for a living. Not that there's anything wrong with it. It's sort of a noble profession. (NOT) But whatevs. It's just really funny how things have changed. That's all I'll say on that subject for now. Who knows what potential employers might be reading.
The following pics I took on Tuesday morning right after the kids got up. That way I could have their pics with me all day long. Crazy hair and all.

You've got a friend
Last Saturday we went to visit our friends Nic and Jeff and their new 10 week old cutie, Ryan. The trip was actually really good. Mason and Jacob were on their best behavior. They didn't spit up once. But they did poop a lot. I think they were trying to show-off. And they made a new friend. I think all of the kids were talking at some point in their secret baby language. Probably plotting against us. Or...maybe they were talking about how particularly bad Harvey's joke's were. In baby language. Ha.

Here, Mason is tryin to teach Ryan to clap with his feet. She doesn't realize he's so little and doesn't know what that means. She can't remember a time when she didn't clap her feet. Jacob looks on in amazement that little Ryan gets all of the attention. All of the time. "Damn you Mason" he thinks.

We go together like ramma lamma lamma ka dinga da dinga dong.
