Photoshoot Chair

So took these pics last weekend. Saturday, I think. Look how big our little munchkins are getting. I mean, they're totally filling up the photoshoot chair. Insane, right?
Well not much of a purpose for this post I guess. But to show off that Mason and Jacob just keep getting cuter. Like I ever thought that was possible.

Jacob Hasselhoff

The weirdest thing...
I found David Hasselhoff and one of his Baywatch babes in Mason and Jacob's room this week. I didn't know that Mason and Jacob canoodled with such high falutin' folk. Maybe it's only in the summer time. Huh.

"That's right. Know it."

"It's hard work lookin' this good."

"Kind of like how I remember the French Riviera."

Mason on the Move

Earlier this week I temporarily lost Mason. The kiddieiwnks were in the living room Sitting up. Playing. I was in their bedroom. Picking out their outfits for the day or putting away laundry or something. I heard Jacob cry. I went back into the living room to see what the little prince wanted. But Mason was no where to be found. I did a quick scan of the room and temporarily flipped out. Had she disappeared?

Nah, she was just under the big, black reclining chair. How she got there still remains a mystery.

Our Table

Our beautiful table. I loved that table. I had many memories of that table. It was the table Harvey had when we first met. Yes, he cooked me thai chicken and served it on that table on our 3rd date. (along with gummy bear martinis and afterburner shots). That table has held many a dinner parties, seders, and other meals fancy enough for us to sit at it instead of eating on the coffee table in front of the TV.

And now, that table is no longer with us.

We had to part with it to make room for high chairs. And just make more room in general. We got a new table to replace it. It's much smaller and actually looks like a desk. But it does actually pull out so four people can sit around it. So it's not all bad. It just doesn't look like the old one.

I'll miss you old, glass round table. From the bottom of my heart.

Hangin' with Grandma & Grandpa

Grandma and grandpa gave Mason and Jacob some very nice books this past weekend as well. The best part about them...they are drool proof. And edible. Well not really edible but let's say you want to eat them, it's so not a problem.

Mmm...books.

Mase, caught in the act.

Jacob holds his ground. Mason shows off her two bottom teeth.

River Dance

No, this is not Michael Flatley. It's Jacob Lieberman.
Grandma got a used jumperoo from the local "Mother of Twins" group near Milford. Awww...what a grandma.

Now this jumperoo was a little different than the one we have, as it just seemed bouncier or something. Anyway, Jacob absolutely LOVED it.

Clearly.

Mason's First Shower

Mason attended her very first ladies only event - Aunt Jennie's wedding shower.

And she was a total hit. Jennie was. Well, so was Mason. She was SO good. And such a lady. She even ate her puffs at the table like a lady. Aw...my little Mase.

A special shout out to Aunt Lena for watching over her every move. And as you might imagine, the girl has moves. Oh yes.

Mase in her pretty green shower dress. Thanks Aunt Mya!

Her serious look. You don't win hearts without a serious look.

Jacob's just glad he can be naked all day and hang out with Daddy and Grandpa.

Mason wearing her fancy going out to events bib.

She was placated by helping Aunt Jennie with all the wrapping paper. Mmm...tasty wrapping paper.

Just one of the girls.

Da Park

Since the weather has been getting better I've been trying to take the kids to the park as much as possible. We usually go with Mason's boyfriends, Burke and James. Mason and Jacob usually swing for a little while, maybe enjoy their bottles and sit on blankets and play. Burke and James crawl around everywhere and eat rocks. I think James actually had some dead bird feathers in his mouth at one point. Ew. I'm just enjoying Mase and Jake kind of being not so mobile at the moment. Although Mase is a little roller. And likes to lick the ground a lot.
Eh, things could be worse...she could be eating dead birds. Ha!

Jacob loving his swing. Mase in the back.

Mason's boyfriend, James. He's totally peepin' on her.

Playground pimps.

"Hi boys. My name is Mason."

"Look into my eyes. And I will take over the world!"

There's nothing sexier than a little boy in striped socks and short pants sucking on his finger.

Roof party! Roof party!

No, not a roofie party. That's something completely different.
A few weeks ago, Mason and Jacob went to their first roof party. Our friends Eric and Janet had us over to celebrate Eric's b'day. And yes, the kids came too. Actually, we went to playgroup with their friends before this. Then mosey'd on over to Eric and Janet's roof. We didn't drink much. But Jake did.

As you can see, the party got a little out of hand when daddy began to read, "Moo Baa La La La".

All Boston'd out. I think we're just missing the Bruins here. Oh yeah, and don't mind the baby drinking the Corona.

I always wonder if it's weird that when Harvey looks at Jacob he sees a carbon copy of himself.

You gotta know when to hold 'em

A couple weeks ago Jake and Mase started holding their own bottles. Kinda sorta. I mean, they totally know how as you can see from the pics below. Whether they actually do it or not is questionable. Jacob tends to hold it more than Mason. But she knows. I know she knows. And I also know she tries to play me for a fool. Silly girl.

Honey, we got a floater!

Last night Jacob pooped in the bathtub.

OK, I said it. And there's really not much more to it than that. I was debating whether I should write about it or not. I'm sure Mason will hold this over his head one day when they are old enough to read and understand this blog.

But they were both in the tub, in their shiny new bath seats when it happened. Although we don't actually know when it occurred because we didn't realize he had done it until we went to pick him up to dry.

"Aaaahh! Jacob pooped!" Harvey screamed. I think I was already in the other room with Mason. "What do you mean?" I said. "Well, why don't you come and take a look."

So I did. But I kinda wished I hadn't. Poop, smeared all over poor Jacob's bath seat. I don't know if that's as bad as Mason sitting in the poopy water. Little pooper. At least "da da" cleaned it up. What a good da da.

May 1, 2009

And yes, the twins are already 9 months old! Can you even stand it? It's crazy, right? Some may even say insane. I mean, not as insane as the Celtics/Bulls game 6, triple overtime last night, but pretty crazy. Where has the time gone? Honestly, I have no idea. I mean, I can still totally remember the first day we brought them home. They were all little and squirmy and wrinkly. Now they are bigger and squirmy and not so wrinkly. Jacob has crazy, curly hair. Mason has teeth and total "tude".

I think it was last weekend when Harvey and I were up in Boston. We were giving the kids their night bottle when I looked over at Harvey who was holding Jacob...and he could barely hold him. I mean, Jacob just looked all long and kind of unmanageable. He looked like a little boy as opposed to a baby I guess. And for some reason it made me really sad. I got all teary eyed and sniffley. But Harv assured me it was a good thing. That they were getting bigger. And growing. And blah blah blah. I guess it's fine. But it still makes me a little sad, don't really know why.

So they had their 9 month appointment at the doctors yesterday. And they are still healthy and strong.

Jacob weighed in at 20 lbs! And little Ms. Mason, a cool 19. So they are doing good. Real good.

They got a whole bunch of standard tests - a hearing, an eye test where they had to wear a patch over one eye and get hooked up to electrodes, and a hemoglobin count. Pretty awesome.

Things I learned from Dr. Parikh yesterday:

1) Take out one of their bottles, and add a lunch feed. So now they have 3 food feedings a day plus 3 formula. (and one of their bottles should be given in the sippy cup)

2) Don't worry about the Swine Flu. There are no reported cases in Hoboken. "Just don't take them around sick people."

3) They can eat strawberries. Well, at least we can try them.

So that's that.

I understand I've kind of been neglecting the blog lately. But I have been thinking about it. Every day there is a story I WANT to write, but I just don't get a chance. But oh well. So here are a slew of entries. Some things have occurred before this posting, but I'm just getting around to writing them up now. So enjoy. Oh yeah, and here are some random cute pics that have been taken some time this month. Too good to not post.

Mason showing off her two bottom teeth and her epiglottis.
(she has her 2 top teeth growing in now as well!)

Just another day for the cutest twins in the world.

Jacob sporting his "Wake me up before you go go" outfit. Mason smirking - she knows she's cute. Oh yeah. She knows.

I think they're getting too old for the photoshoot chair.

How can you not love that hair?

Overhead shot. Awwww.

Never trust a baby on the move whilst wearing a headband.

Dada!

The twins speak! Yep, it's true. In the last week or so they've gone from gibbering nonsense all the time to speech. "Dada" is the first thing they say. They look me in the eye and say "dada". Do they know it's me? Are they asking for their dada or are they simply announcing the end of a really cheesy magic trick? Do they associate me with being their dada or do they think they're 2/3 of a German pop group from the 80s called Trio? Maybe, as Ann says, it's because it's the easiest sound to make. Or maybe she's just saying that 'cos they didn't say "mama".

Bathtime Buddies

It's been a while since the last post so we thought you deserved some cute pics of the cutest twins in Hoboken. Mason and Jacob have outgrown their bathtub so it was time to try something different - the bathseats. Now they can sit facing each other and splash around in the bath. It's lots of fun! And no it's not disgusting. They're babies. Sickos. Get your minds out of the gutter. A special shout out to Auntie Cindy for all of their bath toys. They absolutely love them. More than puffs. Enjoy the pics.

Pics of the week

I'm really sad cause I'm working this week. On site. Like in the city. Yay money! Boo leaving the kids at home all day.

My favorite part of this morning was holding them both in my arms as they looked out the window. It was a double snuggle. Awww.

So these are my favorite pics of the week. I think you'll see why.

XOXO
