You can't get more exciting than this. Shortly after Skye's first birthday she got her "Skye" Pottery Barn chair from her Nana and Papa and Grandma and Grandpa. And consequently Obama beat out Mitt Romney to occupy the Whitehouse for another 4 years. Good? Bad? Who knows. Not I. That's for sure. But a democrat being President can't be too bad. Ha.
Obama also was elected shortly after Mason and Jacob were born in '08...Back when Jacob had no neck and Mason was still a fatty. So I'll call my kids "Obama Babies". Let's see how it affects them in 20 years.
Skye loves her chair. And Obama. Her chair has taken a beating though from Mason and Jacob so something tells me that it probably won't last as long as Mase and Jakes. I guess that's what happens when you're the third. But she does love it. And loves books. Oh yes. Just like her Daddy.

Refugees
This is how backed up I am....
Hurricane Sandy. Happened way back before Halloween at the end of October.
According to LiveScience.com
"Hurricane Sandy, a late-season post-tropical cyclone, swept through the Caribbean and up the East Coast of the United States in late October 2012. The storm left dozens dead, thousands homeless and millions without power. Total damage is expected to be in the billions of dollars."
I'm glad we got out of Hoboken when we did. Tons of our friends lost their cars and had a ton of water damage to their apartments. I haven't been back to Hoboken since the storm. I felt just awful. Shortly after Sandy we had some unexpected, but VERY WELCOME visitors...The Hestons. Yay Hestons. This is the best shot of our refugee friends I could get.
Kids had a blast having a sleepover and playing with Demi, Zoe and Luke.
Come back to Winchester any time.
And a shout out to all of our Hoboken and Manhattan peeps that were affected by the storm.XO

I have a 1 year old!
So, this entry is about 18 days overdue. So I apologize to all of our blog reading fans. And I especially apologize to my little Skye when she is old enough to read this herself. Sorry, hun. But you have one busy mama!
Anyway, I can't believe it's been like, a whole YEAR since we've had little Skye Maxine. Seriously. Where did the year go? And I have to admit, as her birthday was approaching I kind of felt all, like, "Hey, maybe we SHOULD try for another one?!?" I mean, my baby is now 1. So she's not really a baby anymore. And Mason and Jacob are sure to start hating me soon (due to their age) and who am I going to snuggle with? But Harvey reassured me that it was the hormones talking and we are all set with our family of 5.
Over the year Skye has taken on many nicknames. They are as follows:
Skye Bird
Skye Birdie Boo Boo
Boo Boo
Boogs
Little Boogs
SBB
Booga Shnoogs
Shnoogs
Fatty McFee
Booger McShnoogens
And last but not least, Skye Birdie Tickle Toes. (thank you big sister Mason)
I don't think Mason and Jacob every really had that many nicknames - they had a few...Mr. and Mrs. Moo is one that comes to mind. Oh yeah, Milky Moo for Mason and Mrs. Milky Von Shnauser. Ha.
But moving on...the year with Skye has been amazing. Due to the little lady herself. She is and continues to be a truly awesome baby. No offense, Jake and Mase, but Skye is definitely my easiest baby. Now I don't know if that's because Harvs and I already went through this with 2...so she just seems easier because she is only 1 and we aren't quite as nervous about everything...or it's just because she is THE BEST BABY EVER! Seriously people. She's independent. She eats like a champ. She sleeps at night. And she's just, generally, an all around happy girl. And when people meet her, all they want to do is hold her. And wave hello to her. And they tell me how cute she is. Of course, I agree. Since she has been such a good baby, I'm sure I'm in for it when she gets a little older. From her being the last one, I feel like she'll be the craziest. Just because she's corrupted by Jacob and Mason. Again, just a hunch.
We went to her one-year well visit a couple weeks ago where she got a couple shots and weighed and measured and all that good stuff. And here are her vital stats:
Weight: 22 lbs 2 oz (67%)
Height: 29 in (45%)
Head: 17 1/3 in (19%)
She is still not really crawling and continues to do the "Scoot". She had been getting into the crawling position, but then gets stuck. So, I guess she'll either start to crawl soon or just start walking. She does try to pull herself up on things and enjoys standing. She rolls over in her crib and is extremely vocal - pointing everywhere letting us know exactly what she wants.
We had a "Breakfast Brunch" in honor of Queen Skye with family and a few friends and an amazing time was had by all. Especially our Skye Birdie Boo Boo.
OK. I guess I've written enough. But I could go on forever. It's emotional when your last baby turns 1! Oh God. I'm such a mom. Listen to me. Nah, don't listen to me. Just look at the best pics and videos ever below.
This is the little princess on her actual birthday! Told you she was a happy baby.
I put this one in just because I love the expression on her face.
Now Boogsy wants to get in on the action and take my phone.
She keeps trying to climb the stairs. But hasn't quite figured it out yet. Yay!
Cousin Hunter comes over to say hi to the little lady. Now she's as old has him!
The obligatory 1 year old shot.
Mason and Jacob and Colorful Beautiful get in on the action.
"C'mon Mama...enough is enough."
Thanks Mason and Jacob for giving me "Colorful Beautiful".
Hanging at her birthday party with Grandpa.
My first "1" cake. And my last.
She's wearing the SAME exact outfit Mason wore for her first birthday. But Skye has leggings.
My one year old princess.
Uncle Mat reading her, her FAVORITE book - Black Bear Black Bear what do you see?
My favorite shot of the day. Get your frames ready, people.
Skye and her friend Ruby. Ruby is 2 months older. And Skye's only friend. Ha.
Birthday cake time!
She LOVES it. No surprise there.
It's hard to stop and pose for pics.
"Ma! Enough. I'm trying to eat my cake."
Boogsy is now in a cake coma.
Happy Birthday to Skye Birdie Boo Boo!
There's a commotion at the end.
Apparently Mason wanted to blow out BOTH candles. Oy.
(We put 2 candles on her cake so Mason and Jacob could each blow one out)
Live action cake eating.
Uncle Andy and Big Jake.
GG and Mase make silly faces.
And now big smiles.
Uncle Mat entertains the whole family - Harold, Mason, Jacob AND GG!
Napkins and Plates and Princess Cake Pops Oh My!
Doesn't she look totally 1?
Thank You Hunter. I love my Rody.
The after party. That's my girl! Mason joins in as well. DEFINITELY my girls.

Happy Halloween...Winchester Style
Halloween this year was fantastic. Jakey was "The Green Lantern". Mase was "Wonder Woman" and Skye birdie boo boo was "Super baby". Skye wore Mason's costume from 3 years ago. Clearly, our little Mason Ruby was ahead of her time on the whole superhero train. Ha ha. We had a great time. I totally dorked out and made all kinds of Halloween treats like pumpkin cake pops, mummy juice boxes and marshmallow zombies. Well, the kids helped out. It was a fun activity. Sort of.
As my sister said, "I never knew you were such a Martha Stewart! You didn't do this in Hoboken."
True. But the kids weren't really old enough until now to really join in and appreciate things. This is the first year they are really into Halloween. Or aware of it anyway.
Harv took them out. They got tons of candy. Harvey and I are stealing it every night. But they're 4, so they don't really need to eat that much candy, do they? I certainly don't. But I am. It's really really hard to resist. Mason shares my love of Reeses Peanut Butter cups. Jacob still doesn't like chocolate and gives it all to Mason. And Skye would probably eat it if we gave it to her. That crazy chick eats anything.
Anyway, enjoy the pics. We had a blast. Really. Even Grandma.
My superheros getting ready to spring into action.
The wondertwins...still got it!
This is a really nice smile. Can't you tell.
"We're number 1!"
Crazy asses.
Mason is blessing Skye. Or trying to get her to look at the camera.
Hangin' with Grandma before Trick or Treating.
Our Halloween party. Sania and Ruby on the left.
Pumpkin cake pops. I'm a dork. What can I say.
Mummy juice boxes...these are fun.
Zombie marshmallows. The kids did these. Eat with caution.
Super baby enjoying her Halloween dinner of chicken and sweet potato.
Super Daddy...super tired. Duuuhhh.
Connors Farm
A couple of weeks ago, we went to Connors Farm up in Danvers with Aunt Jennie and Cousin Hunter. It was pretty awesome for a Friday afternoon. And extremely festive and fall like. They had a spooky corn maze. A bunch of bouncey type houses and slides. Tractors. Pumpkins. Hay rides. Bicycles. Lots of livestock. And just an all around good time for all the kiddos.
Aunt Jennie, Mase, Jake and Huntah!
Skye wonders why she is parked in a corn maze whilst wearing wearing purple, velvet capris.
"I'm a Jew. A lonely Jew. In a corn field."
The only one cooperating for this picture was Hunter. Skye is clearly annoyed. Jacob is sitting behind Skye. And Mason has already flown the coop in search of early Halloween candy.

You know your kids go to Jewish school when...
they are in the bathtub singing, "Rise and shine and give God your glory glory, Rise and shine and give God your glory glory, Rise and shine AND give God your glory glory children of the Lord."
Seriously. This is not a joke.

Lots Going On
I've been due a blog entry for a while...and I have a ton to tell all of our fans.
We went to a pumpkin patch. Dressed up for Halloween. Had a Hurricane. Celebrated Skye's first bithday. And had presidential election. Plus all the crazy-normal stuff that happens every day.
But the heating guy is here and I have to run. Stay tuned...
